Well, Jay has done it again. This time there's no limp wrists or
sniggering about "Brokeback Mountain." This time, according to Mr.
Leno, we gay men all have Truman Capote voices and cry when we think
about Judy Garland.
To add salt to the wound, the man continues to play the sensitivity
card. In the past two months he's apologized to a friend of Dick
Cheney's shooting victim, and to the great-grandson of a doctor who
treated John Wilkes Booth.
"It's not unusual for Leno to make such calls," an NBC spokeswoman
maintains.
And then he goes on TV and lisps his way through another San Francisco
joke.
Let The Tonight Show and Jay Leno know these attacks are unacceptable.
Please, if just twenty or thirty of us write in it could make a
difference. Rewrite my letter or write your own, and send to:

***@nbc.com (Robert Wright is the president of NBC)
Thanks!

I'm astonished by the continued assault on gays by Jay Leno. On
Tuesday he stated that if gay history were taught in high school,
students would learn that the Great Depression was when Judy Garland
died.
And then last night Kiefer Sutherland demonstrated different speech
patterns he uses on "24." When he spoke in a high, soft voice, Mr.
Leno announced, "That's GAY Jack!"
As a gay man, I am fed up with these attacks. Mr. Leno obviously knows
it's wrong, as he would NEVER denigrate blacks, Hispanics, Jews, or
Christians in this manner. Why does he consider gays open territory,
and when will NBC decide to stop him? It's the height of hypocrisy to
send out press releases describing his warmth and generosity while he's
attacking homosexuals twice a week.
Please let Mr. Leno know that his attacks are vicious and harmful, and
that some of his viewers are astonished that he'd repeatedly use his
homophobia as a basis for humor.
