As a gay man, I am fed up with these attacks. Mr. Leno obviously knows
it's wrong, as he would NEVER denigrate blacks, Hispanics, Jews, or

It's weird how things change. I used to think Leno was too liberal,
but compared to Letterman, he's the "Conservative" one.

Needless to say, lately I've grown to like Leno more and I don't think
too highly of Letterman.

It also depends on who is doing the jokes.

Jewish comedians have used self-deprecating humor about Jews for many
years. More recently, some of the gay teams on "The Amazing Race" have
enjoyed wallowing in what they know to be exaggerated gay stereotypes.

Generally, the line is crossed when either legal action is taken against
you, or violence is committed against you. Topical humor is always
pushing the envelope to see how far they can go before they're slapped down.

Any "dominance" is the result of the unintelligent dolts who don't know how
to change the channel on their WebTV from NBC to CBS. Many are probably
too fat to get off the couch and too poor to afford a new TV with a remote.

Leno won the Tonight Show gig because Letterman was too gritty for the NBC
executives and because of the fuckery of Leno's agent. Carson himself
wanted Letterman to get the slot, he stayed out of the decision because he
expected that the NBC braintrust had the intelligence to make the right
decision. Carson was wrong.

NBC went with the host they thought best fit their audience which had grown
old with Carson. Old, tired, irrelevant and easily amused. Those words
describe the Leno fans who tune in to his snoozefest. Even the few
Tonight Show viewers who are under thirty fit that description.

Leno can't hold a match to Letterman, not as a comedian, nor as a social
commentator. In the aftermath of 9-11, people tuned in to Letterman to
hear what he had to say. And he didn't disappoint. His comments were
heart-felt, genuine, and put a voice to what millions of people were
thinking but didn't have the words for. Leno is nothing more than a
comedy-writer's dummy. He mouths their jokes, there is no spark of
intelligence behind his words. Leno hasn't asked a controversial question
in years, if ever. Lastly, Leno has the advantage of being located in
Hollywood where the majority of the "stars" are located to attract star-
struck type viewers. Viewers like... you. Bottom line: Leno sucks.

All the smart people know that.

Too bad for you you aren't one of that group.

I totally agree. We've got the worst president, and the most corrupt
administration, in the history of America. And Leno does what, one
joke a night about current events? And it's always a toothless one,
like Bush may be dumb, but nobody's perfect.

Letterman, on the other hand, gives humor with bite. I believe he now
does the "Famous Presidential Speeches" bit every night, where they
show clips from great speeches and then Bush saying idiocy like, "I had
a burrito for lunch." It's a brilliant bit, and IMHO Letterman is more
impressive than ever with the guts he's showing going after this
administration.

necessarily mean you're bigoted against that people. You never heard
comedians and comedy shows and movies with Jewish jokes? The stereotype
of the Jewish American Princess and so on. TV shows like "Saturday
Night Live" and movies like "Blazing Saddles" were just full of Jewish
jokes.

Jews have learned to take that stuff in stride and even turn it to their
advantage with self-deprecating humor.
